One of the leading botanical gardens in the America, Longwood Gardens, consists of 1,050 acres (4.2 km²) of gardens, woodlands, and meadows in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, in the Brandywine Valley. Longwood Garden was bought by George Pierce from William Penn in 1700. In the era of 1850, George had comprehensive and one of the supreme assortments of beautiful trees and flowers. Now a day, Longwood Gardens consists of 20 indoor and 20 outdoor gardens. Longwood Gardens have 11,000 different kinds of plants and fountains. Many shows and concerts are held in this gorgeous garden to over joy the people of the world, every year. Thousands of visitors from every corner of the world take part in the fair of this garden. Today, Longwood Gardens consists of 20 outdoor gardens and 20 indoor gardens within 4 acres of heated greenhouses, known as conservatories.

Longwood gardens contain 11,000 different types of plants, fountains and have extensive educational programs, including horticultural career training and internships. Longwood garden host 800 horticultural and performing art events each year, from flower shows, gardening demonstrations, courses, and children’s programs to concerts, organ and carillon recitals, musical theatre, and firework displays. Longwood gardens are very famous now in the United States. The East Conservatory of Longwood gardens were closed for renovation project in January 2003.
